Galen Jay Eash, 74, of Fargo, N.D., died March 16, 2014, at Sanford Hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1939, to Sanford and Orpha (Kauffman) Eash in Goshen, Ind.
He grew up in Goshen, where he graduated from Bethany Christian High School in 1957 and Goshen College in 1961. He graduated from Jefferson Medical School, Philadelphia, in 1965, and served his residency in family practice in St. Paul, Minn.
He married Marlene Grabill on Dec. 19, 1958, in Goshen.
After he completed his residency, the family moved to Casselton, where he started his practice. In 1979 the family moved to Fargo, and he joined a small independent physicians group. He later served at the MeritCare Southwest Clinic in Fargo until his retirement in 2001.
One of his deepest joys was his love of bicycling. What began as a way to get exercise became a lifelong passion that he enjoyed sharing with others. In his younger years he was active in the local bicycle and racing club. He took various bike trips with family and friends across the country. Whenever he traveled, a bike was always brought along. In his later years, he enjoyed the quiet solitude of riding alone and was a fixture on many of the local country roads.
He loved his family and enjoyed time with his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved music and enjoyed singing, especially in gospel quartets. His deep personal Christian faith was evident in all he did.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene, of Fargo; two daughters, Kristine Larsen and her husband, Dane, of Harwood, and Lori Ellingson and her husband, Kevin, of Fargo; four siblings, Dale Eash and his wife, Judy, Marvin Eash and his wife, Pam, Nancy Myers and her husband, Vic, and Loren Eash and his wife, Barbara Sprenger; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

James Karl Lehman, 50, died March 12, 2014, in Grapevine, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 25, 1963, to Jim and Betsy Lehman in Beatrice, Neb.
He grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y., until he moved to India with his family in 1977. He attended and graduated from Woodstock School in 1982. At Woodstock he excelled in sports, was involved in drama and participated in Christian fellowship groups. At his graduation he received the top drama award and was named Sportsman of the Year.
He attended Goshen (Ind.) College for one year and then graduated from Earlham College in Richmond, Ind., majoring in business and German. After graduation, he was awarded a scholarship by the Carl Duisberg Society, which offered him the opportunity to study and live in Germany for a year.
He returned to the U.S. and received a master of business administration degree in international business at Pace University in New York. He then began a long and impressive career with Lufthansa. He held managerial positions in sales, planning, pricing and marketing. In 2008 he assumed responsibility for the South and Midwest as director of regional sales. He had offices in Chicago, Detroit, Houston and Dallas. He studied at Wharton School of Business and received certificates from the Global Leadership Professional Program.
He was a member of Compass Christian Church and in the last decade of his life renewed and strengthened his relationship with Jesus Christ. He dearly loved his children and enjoyed traveling with them all over the world.
Survivors include his children, Andrew, Alex and Austin Lehman of Grapevine, Texas; his parents, Jim and Betsy Lehman of Goshen, Ind.; and five siblings, Stan of Atlanta, Deanne of Belgium, Carole of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; Jeff of England and Priya of Atlanta.
